Obituary for Malcolm "Mally" Dawson

Malcolm "Mally" Dawson
Malcolm Dawson
22 November 1942 - 25 December 2017
Born in Pointe-à-Pierre, Trinidad, John Malcolm (Mal, Mel, Mally) Foster Dawson passed away at home in Port Coquitlam, BC. He is sorely missed by his wife, Rita, his son, Michael, his daughter-in-law, Catherine Gidney, his granddaughters, Alexandra and Emma, his siblings, Barbara, Angela, and Roger - and by many other family members, friends, and neighbours. A keen Manchester United supporter (Rita cheers for City!), Mal loved travelling, barbequing, socializing, and tending to his never-quite-perfected garden sprinkler system. A long-time banker, he was a founding member of the Port Coquitlam Computer Club and maintained a lifelong interest in technology and engineering - nurtured at a young age by his experience racing boats in Trinidad. Always willing to help a neighbour or a friend in need, Mal enjoyed his weekly pub brunches and hosting guests at his home (where his renowned rum punch was warmly received). A celebration of Mal's life will take place at the Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam, BC at 2 p.m. on January 4, 2018. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Terry Fox Foundation for Cancer Research. (Mal would want us to remind you that such donations are tax deductible!)
